Fernandina Beach Deepwater Seaport
The Port of Fernandina is operated by Nassau Terminals, LLC, a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan, under a long term contract with the Ocean Highway and Port Authority. Under the agreement, Nassau Terminals provides marketing, terminal handling and stevedoring services at the Port of Fernandina.
The Port of Fernandina provides terminal service to over fifteen pulp and paper mills located throughout Florida and the southeast. Fernandina also supports a number of independent container lines serving Venezuela, Columbia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Aruba, and Bermuda.
The Port is located along a western inlet off Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island and is a natural deep water port 45 minutes from dockside to open ocean. For specific information click HERE
Jacksonville Seaport (20 miles to the South)
JAXPORT owns and manages three cargo terminals and one passenger cruise terminal in Jacksonville, Fla., including the Blount Island Marine Terminal, the Dames Point Marine Terminal, the Talleyrand Marine Terminal and the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal. JAXPORT also manages the St. Johns River Ferry, which connects the north and south ends of Florida State Road A1A in Duval County.
JAXPORT and its maritime partners handle containerized cargo, automobiles, recreational boats and construction equipment (Ro/Ro), dry and liquid bulks, breakbulk commodities, and over-sized and specialty cargoes.
JAXPORT’s three marine terminals handled a total of 8 million tons of cargo and more than 518,000 vehicles
in fiscal year 2010, making JAXPORT the second largest vehicle port in the United States and No. 1 in U.S. auto exports.
JAXPORT terminals feature 16 container cranes, on-dock refrigerated & freezer warehousing, Foreign Trade Zone status and outstanding intermodal connections.
A network of privately-owned maritime facilities also operates in Jacksonville’s harbor, and in Northeast Florida, more than 65,000 jobs are related to port activity, which creates an economic impact of almost $19 billion annually.
