P. Mark Cutshaw was appointed to the Nassau County Economic Development Board in January 2011 to fill an At Large Position on the NCEDB Board. Mr. Cutshaw began his professional career in 1982 as an Electrical Engineer with Mississippi Power Company after graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. While at Mississippi Power Company, he served as an Electrical Distribution Engineer in various technical and supervisory roles throughout southeast Mississippi.
In May 1991, Mr. Cutshaw accepted the position of General Manager for the Northwest Florida Division of Florida Public Utilities Company in Marianna, Florida. During this assignment, he was responsible for the engineering, operations, customer service, financial and regulatory activities for the division. These management responsibilities resulted in interaction with various City Commissions, County Board of Commissioners as well as the Florida Public Service Commission. He also served on several civic, charitable and industry organizations including the Jackson County Development Council, Inc. who serves as the Economic Development Board for Jackson County. While serving on the JCDC, he was very involved in the work associated with bringing a large Distribution Center to Marianna creating a significant increase in the number of jobs for this economically disadvantaged area.
In January 2006, he accepted the position of General Manager for the Northeast Florida Division of Florida Public Utilities Company in Fernandina Beach, Florida. During this assignment, he was responsible for the engineering, operations, customer service, financial and regulatory activities for the division which included both electric and propane gas operations. These management responsibilities resulted in interaction with various City Commissions, County Board of Commissioners and the Florida Public Service Commission. In addition to serving on the NCEDB board, he is also a board member for the Amelia Island – Fernandina Beach – Yulee Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Amelia Island Sunrise Rotary Club.
Mr. Cutshaw was born in Greeneville, Tennessee and grew up in Panama City, Florida before continuing his education at Auburn University. He is married to the former Erin Little of Fernandina Beach, Florida and has six children. He is a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoys golf, running and his family.
