Nick moved to Fernandina Beach in 1979 where he attended and graduated from Nassau County schools. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida, he worked in the Orlando and Tampa areas for approximately 6 years. Nick, and his brother Asa, formed Gillette & Associates, Inc in 2002 and have since practiced engineering consulting in Nassau County. Through performing engineering services for the private and public sector, Nick has been very active in Nassau County and the City of Fernandina Beach land development processes and has vast exposure to both zoning and land use regulations. In recent years, Nick has served on task forces for both the City of Fernandina Beach and Nassau County to assist in streamlining the permitting processes.
