
Val began his employment with Nassau Terminals as a financial officer in 1988. He progressively moved into operations and sales and became a minority owner of Nassau Terminals in 1997. After the Kinder Morgan acquisition in 2001, Val stayed on as the Port Director for the Ocean Highway and Port Authority and Terminal Manager with operational and commercial responsibilities for Kinder Morgan. Currently, in addition to functioning as the Port Director for the Port of Fernandina, he has commercial responsibilities in the Southeast for Nassau Terminals/Kinder Morgan including marketing, business development, and acquisitions. Prior to attaining his position with Nassau, Val held the controllers position with Van Ommeren USA, Inc. (VOPAK). Val is a CPA and graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York with a degree in accounting and economics. He is currently pursuing his MBA with Webster University and expects to earn his degree in 2011.
