The Nassau County Economic Development Board is a non-profit
organization formed in 1995 as a public-private partnership
to provide leadership and develop policies and programs
that will foster a diversified and financially strong
business community, which will enhance the quality of
life in Nassau County.
The NCEDB is committed to help broaden and diversify
the local tax base and to assist with the creation of
high-quality, diversified jobs within all areas of Nassau
County.
NCEDB ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• From 1995 to the present, the NCEDB
has assisted in the creation of some 3,300 new jobs
for the residents of Nassau County.
• Wages paid by Nassau County employers increased
by approximately 40 percent from 1995 to the present.
The average annual wage in 1995 was $21,691. Currently,
Nassau County’s average annual wage is $31,810.
• NCEDB board members and investors contributed
an average of 832 volunteer hours a year to numerous
local charities and civic groups at an estimated value
of $540,800.
• NCEDB staff provided site selection, permitting/
zoning and other assistance to more than 109 new and
44 existing businesses such as Annandale Millwork
& Allied Systems, Florida Machine Works; Addy
& Associates; Mulch Manufacturing; Zassi Medical
Evolutions; Fabrication Specialists; Florida Petroleum;
Springer Controls and more.
• NCEDB staff and board members have created
a task force to encourage the development of the infrastructure
and financial assistance needed to recruit and nurture
high-technology, innovation industries such as those
already being assisted through the BETA-1 Incubator
– also a collaborative project of the NCEDB.
• In 2005, the NCEDB began distribution of
a monthly newsletter, The NCEDB Report, designed
to inform the organization’s investors, business
and government partners of the NCEDB’s accomplishments.
• NCEDB staff created a consultants newsletter
distributed quarterly to more than 1,600 site selection
consultants and corporate real estate executives to
market Nassau County as an exceptional place to locate
a new facility.
